As a school we are required by statutory guidance to have certain policies and procedures in place covering varied aspects of school. These policies are reviewed on a scheduled basis.

We also have a number of other policies relating to various aspects of school that are also reviewed regularly.

Statutory Policies

Attendance

This policy sets outs the procedures that will be followed to encourage regular attendance at school. It details the roles and responsibilities of staff in school with regards to recording and monitoring attendance and how absences will be dealt with.

Complaints

The policy sets out the aims of QES when dealing with a complaint, the legislation and guidance followed along with the definition and scope of a complaint.  There are full details on the stages of a complaint, Informal, Formal and Appeal Panel.

Behaviour Policy

The behaviour policy sets out the principles and practices that QES will follow in order to promote positive behaviour in school along with how sanctions will be used relating to various aspects of behaviour including uniform and substance abuse. There is also information about procedures for exclusion.

Children Unable to attend School due to Health Needs

This policy sets out the schools aims to ensure that suitable alternative education is arranged for pupils on roll who cannot attend school due to being deemed unfit for school on a temporary basis.

The Equality and Accessibility policy articulates QES’s commitment to ensure that everyone who belongs to, or comes into contact with, the school community is valued and respected. Acceptable Use - Pupils

This policy provides information for pupils wishing to use their own laptop computer or tablet device whilst at school. It sets out details of acceptable behaviour and good practice for pupils to follow.
