Dear Parents and Carers

Thank you so much for all your support this academic year, not least over these last few hot days.

To get to the end of a busy term with a return of our Awards Mornings, Sports Day and Music and Drama events has been wonderfully uplifting and such a celebratory experience for our community. Yesterday’s return of the Community Walk was particularly inspiring; we know we are so lucky to have our schools located in such a beautiful area, but this opportunity to spend a day immersed within the countryside, chatting with one another as pupils and staff walk side by side has been sorely missed over these last few years.  In particular seeing our Sixth Formers refill water bottles and act as marshals on the route is a notable role modelling example for our younger years, and they were particularly impressive yesterday, especially as the midges were out in full force!

Planning for September and the next academic year has been a focus for many colleagues this term too as we review our development plans and establish clear areas we want to work on next year. A priority for September is to ensure that not only do children new to our schools settle in well, but equally our 10 new colleagues acclimatise into life in our schools quickly, no doubt bringing their own experiences and suggestions as we continue to review what we do and how we can improve our provision for the young people in our care. From September we will be returning too to more opportunities for parents to be in school, starting with Year 7, 10 and 12 induction sessions and of course the open invites to events as we plan more throughout the year. We are also looking into how we might build a new version of PTA and establish ways of fundraising, especially as cost of living concerns affect families and our children.

For your information we have been updating our full Schemes of Learning in all subjects and simplified overviews are now on the website here:

But that’s enough of next academic year – there is a summer holiday for our wonderful young people to enjoy!

Wishing you and your family a lovely, safe and happy summer and a heartfelt thank you for all of your support.

With best wishes
